Maurizio Zanotto was in born in Vicenza in 1958. Even as a child, a strong predisposition for drawing was noticed. Even though Maurizio went through a technical high school, graduating in Accounting, he continues cultivating his passion with perseverance. He develops his pictorial technique further under the guide of Luciano Pelizzari from 1984 al 1989; Pelizzari, an artist that has been living in Germany for a while, was strongly appreciated by Pietro Annigoni (see: Luciano Pelizzari "VIAGGIO A VENEZIA" Stamperia Valdanega, Verona 1981). In these years Zanotto perfects his drawing skills and learns the tempera grassa technique, dedicating himself exclusively to portraits.
Only in a second moment will he become attracted to still life, finding a lot of colour and a research in drawing that he hadn't found elsewhere. By perfecting himself in the compositions, Zanotto finds himself getting more and more involved, even emotionally, by the colours and the lights projected on the subjects of his paitings.
In 1986 he is invited to hold his first solo exhibits in Bassano del Grappa and in 1998 his painting are exhibited at Arte Fiera (Art Expo) in Padova through S.Stefano Gallery of Venice. He lives and works in Pove del Grappa (VI).
